REACH is a regulation of the European Union, adopted to improve the protection of human health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals, while enhancing the competitiveness of the EU chemicals industry.

The overall aims of REACH are to: Provide a high level of protection of human health and the environment from the use of chemicals Allow free movement of substances on the EU market REACH standards for the Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH). It entered into force on 1 June 2007. REACH Certificate of Compliance is a document certifying that a product is compliant with the EU REACH regulation (EC) No 1907/2006. It can be a testing report or statement issued by a third-party testing organization. It could also be a self-declaration.

EU-gemensamt tillsynsprojekt om REACH 2021 Naturvårdsverket kommer under 2021 samverka med Kemikalieinspektionen och Arbetsmiljöverket i ett projekt om tillsyn av ämnen som kräver tillstånd enligt Reach-förordningen. Länsstyrelser och kommuner kommer också tillfrågas om att delta i projektet.
